Too good to be true...yup

As I mentioned in a previous entry, WorldVision had promised to do a lot of wonderful things for children in this area. I was so happy, but wondered if it was too good to be true. It was.

I took them to meet many projects and they promised to help many children. They missed meeting after meeting but I thought if they will help, it would be worth the headache. I just got off the phone with them. They will do nothing. No clothes, food, schooling....nothing. They truly suck.

what are their reasons for not helping?

They said it is against their policy. The woman I spoke with does not speak English very well so I am going to meet with her again to get more details.

Was it Thai people that you were talking with?
When we were travelling we found that the people in some countries wanted to please us or make us happy so they would just say yes to everything even if it was something they couldn't do. Thailand was one of those countries. It's not that they were trying to deceive us, they just didn't like to say no to people.
Our situation was different, we weren't there to work, but could this be something that you are encountering, or definitely not the case?

You are right that people often want to say "yes" and there is misunderstandings. I think this case is different since they wanted to go out to projects and interviewed and photographed kids. Either way, pretty disappointing.
